How to sign a PDF on iPhone
To sign a PDF on your iPhone, open the document in Easy Scan & Sign, tap Sign, draw or type your signature once to save it, then tap where it goes on the page. Flatten and share — the whole thing takes under a minute, and nothing leaves your phone unless you send it.
Sign a PDF in Easy Scan & Sign
- Open the PDF. Import it from Files or Photos, or scan a paper copy with the camera.
- Tap Sign. Choose your saved signature or initials, or tap Create signature the first time.
- Place it. Tap where the signature should sit, then drag the handles to move or resize it.
- Share. Tap Share, keep Flatten annotations on so the signature can’t be moved in another reader, and send by email, save to Files, or use the share sheet.

Download on the App StoreCreate and save your signature
The first time you sign, open the signature creator. You can:
- Draw with your finger (black or blue, adjustable thickness), or
- Type your name and pick a script font.
Easy Scan & Sign saves one signature and one set of initials on the device so you don’t redraw them every time.
Without an app
You can also sign a PDF using tools already on your iPhone:
- Files / Markup: open the PDF in the Files app, tap the Markup (pen) icon, then the + button and Signature to draw and place one.
- Mail Markup: reply to an email, add the PDF attachment, tap it, and use Markup to sign before sending.
- Apple Notes: scan a document into a note and annotate it there.
These work for a quick one-off. A dedicated scanner app helps when you sign often, want searchable PDFs, or need saved signatures and initials ready to reuse.
FAQ
Is my signature stored anywhere online? No. Signatures, documents, and recognized text stay on your iPhone (or your own iCloud if you turn on sync). Nothing is sent to us.
Can the signature be removed after I share it? Keep Flatten annotations on when you export. A flattened signature is drawn into the page and can’t be moved in another PDF reader.
Do I need an account? No account and no sign-up. You can scan, fill, sign, and share without one.
